The Apostle Paul often used sporting images to illustrate aspects of the life of the Christian. He writes this:

Do you not know that in a race the runners all compete, but only one receives the prize?

Run in such a way that you may win it.

Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one.

So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air; but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.

What's the program about?

This event runs annually, based out of the Warwick Leisure Centre.

It is a Sport and Leisure Ministry program where individual churches, or groupings of churches, field teams to play in a range of sports from 9.00am in the morning to 5.00pm in the afternoon.

The Sports and events are arranged in 3 sessions and include Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Scrabble Chess, Darts, Table Tennis, Tennis, Table Soccer (Fuzeball) 8 Ball, Lawn Bowls, 10 pin Bowling and Bocce.

There is something for everyone.

At the conclusion of the day we gather for nibbles in the foyer, then go to the function room for dinner, at which the awards are presented, and we hear from our sponsors.

The winners are always those who invite their neighbours, work mates and acquaintances to come and have a fun day playing sport and just getting to know them. Churches would then organise other follow up events to continue the process of relational evangelism....

SIMPLE and FUN!
