The Apostle Paul often used sporting images to illustrate aspects of the life of the Christian. He writes this:

Do you not know that in a race the runners all compete, but only one receives the prize?

Run in such a way that you may win it.

Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one.

So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air; but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Master's Games was a great success again this year with 12 churches playing a total of 15 different sports across three time slots. There was, as always, something for everyone. It doesn't matter how old you are.... you're never too old to have fun!  Of course this is a Sport and Leisure Ministry event, so the winning churches are always the ones that "get that" and invite their neighbours and friends to come and have a good fun day of sports with them, and build relationships in the process.

That's what it is all about!

That is why we take the time and effort to run the games for the local churches each year!

So that you can just invite friends, neighbours and acquaintances to have a fun day with you while you build a relationship with them... RELATIONAL EVANGELISM begins with relationship building!

By the way.... we don't care what name plate you have over your front door, If you have a heart to reach your local community for Jesus... you are welcome to join us next year Saturday 10th October 2009.
