Training was conducted in house in the past, but involves a huge amount of compliance work and record keeping, which is not the core business of CCSRA.

There is also much duplication of effort using limited resources, and as a result we have opted to be in the business of providing training placements and be involved in the assessment of students through third party associations.

Jim Longbottom delivers the training at CCSRA Inc., and has a Cert IV in workplace assessment and training.

Jim has 25 years experience in the Mining Industry as a metallurgist and in management, finishing as Chief Metallurgist for BHP Iron Ore.

At 40, he then studied at Churches of Christ Theological College in Melbourne for 4 years, and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology from the Melbourne College of Divinity and a Diploma in Ministry.

He had a 9 year ministry at Box Hill Church of Christ in Melbourne, then as Senior Minister at the Warwick Church of Christ, now Executive Minister of the Churches of Christ Sport and Recreation Association Inc. which utilises all his business, management and ministry skills. 

He is married to Michelle and together they have 6 children.

The Centre is currently providing training opportunities for two VET sector courses on behalf of two RTO's:

Certificate II in Sport and Recreation accredited  by Swan TAFE, through an association with AFL sports ready

Certificate IV in Youth Ministry accredited by ACAS, through an association with the Baptist Youth "Emerge" program.
